How to Export High-Quality PNG and PDF (With Transparent Background)
💾 How to Export High-Quality PNG and PDF (With Transparent Background)
Exporting your design correctly is just as important as creating it. The wrong export format can result in blurry images, white backgrounds where you wanted transparency, or files too large to share. This guide explains every export option in CapybaraLand — and when to use each one.
PNG vs JPG — Which Should You Use?
- PNG — lossless compression, supports transparency. Best for logos, designs with text, and anything you will place on top of another image.
- JPG / JPEG — smaller file size, no transparency. Best for photos and backgrounds where file size matters.
🦫 CapybaraLand tip: When in doubt, export as PNG. It preserves every detail and allows transparent backgrounds.
Step 1 — Click Export
When your design is ready, click the Export button in the top-right corner of the editor. The export modal will open.
Step 2 — Choose PNG for Social Media
Select PNG from the format dropdown. You will see a quality slider — for social media, 100% quality at 1× is ideal. For retina displays, choose 2×.
Step 3 — Enable Transparent Background
Tick the Transparent Background checkbox. This removes the white (or any solid colour) background so your design can float over any image or video. This is especially useful for:
- Logos and watermarks
- Stickers and overlay text
- YouTube thumbnails with background photos
Step 4 — Export PDF for Print
For CVs, flyers, brochures, and other print materials, always choose PDF. In the export modal:
- Select PDF from the format dropdown.
- Set resolution to 300 dpi for print-quality output.
- Leave bleed at 0 mm unless your printer requires it.
- Click Download PDF.
